MOMENTS
Over the next few weeks I will be posting a few select images that evoke particular moments and situations when they were taken. I am currently working through thousands of images that I have taken over the past months. So most of my time is taken up editing images and working on the website. I might just be able to still fit in a small shoot this weekend. Enjoy the images .
Lappet faced vulture
Swooping Lappet-face
This is the shot that most accurately portrays the way I remember seeing these huge birds for the first time. Swooping down feathers ruffled and wings out-stretched trying to break their decent. Converting the image to mono just seemed to compliment the composition and add a touch of nostalgia.
White backed vulture
White-backed Vulture in "Angel Pose"
With their wings pulled up and back, there is not mistaking the classic "Angel" shape. Whoever first got the idea of illustrating angels in this fashion must have copied it from these birds. I just love the pose and posture of this bird.
Dolphins
Cruising Dolphins
I don't think I will ever tire of watching dolphins. These two just seemed to synchronise on everything. Even the spray of water.
Dolphin
Leaping Dolphin
I waited a long time and had plenty of shots of water before I finally got a sequence of dolphins leaping. The clouds over the desert provide added interest to the image. In all a wonderful subject against a backdrop that is not all to common in this part of the world.
