Gone Walking!
kat_01_07_0061

It’s Wednesday morning and still dark outside as I do my cliff-hanger impersonation trying to see if it has snowed.  It has!  Unfortunately I could not take advantage of the snow on that morning but I was going to make the most of it on the Thursday, as the weather forecast predicted more snow!

Thursday morning, same place, same time, the same stunt.  NO SNOW!!! So I decided to take my new tripod (ah yes I broke the old one high up on the cliffs) and just walk along the coast and to see what I could find.

It snowed off and on the entire day, but never settled.  It wasn’t only the weather that teased me on this day, but my peregrine pair made an appearance flying by ten meters from where I sat.   They then patrolled the cliffs harassing pigeons, well out of range of any lens I had on me that day.  Ah well at least the tripod is brilliant (if a bit heavy).
Above: Out on the horizon is where Nature decided to plant the 'blizzard' I had been hoping for all day. Well I guess I still managed to get a decent image. This is defintiely one that needs to be seen big.

Above:  Rocks and swirling water.  Not every-bodies thing, but I just had to play with this and convert it to mono.

Above:  Again these clouds were supposed to bring snow! The mono treatment has definitely enhanced the drama in this scene.

Above: This is a wide angle view of the light house usually seen from the cliffs. The tide was already coming in fast and the water in the foreground definitely adds to the image.

Above:  Clouds and a sun burst! The combination never fails.
