Bulletin 32

End of a Slow Summer

I can’t say I have been up to an awful lot since the last bulletin.  At least nothing to fill these pages!  This, pretty much seems to happen at this time of year and then I get all inspired just as winter seems to come along.

A few changes have taken place, I parted company with my Canon 1D Mark II n (very reluctantly as this camera has never let me down) and have teamed up with a brand new I D Mark III (this was back in July already).  Despite the bad press that the camera has been getting regarding its “erratic” auto-focus, I can’t say I have had any trouble with my model.  I have tested it on a variety of subjects, ranging from airshows to weddings.  So far so good!  One thing must be said for the image quality, especially the tonal gradation and the lack of noise on the higher ISO settings.  It is great!

I am currently planning (well in the last stages) my trip to Namibia.  Unfortunately the usual bulletins probably won’t be a regular feature this time round as I doubt that I will have much access to any internet facilities.  I do however hope to come back with a lot of images to spice up this site.  I plan on spending quite a bit of time in the northern regions and hope to update my elephant and lion images.  If the rain holds off as I am hoping, I should get some good shots.  Unfortunately there are never any guarantees though.

I shall leave you with a few images taken during the summer and will get back to stressing myself out with thoughts of hand luggage, customs and over bookings!  Ah the joys of travelling with camera gear.  Take care and speak to you soon.

Power!!!
